Still here...

Yes...it's been a while I know.  There isn't really a good reason, just lots of silly small ones I guess, you know, busy with things that often aren't really important but they take up time and more importantly, energy.  Boring life stuff.  Mojo a bit low too, and feeling that I haven't really got anything particularly interesting to tell you.  And at the same time, weirdly, too much to say to know where to start.  And good old procrastination of course.  So I won't rabbit on a lot now, just dipping my toe back in, and to show you a couple of things I've done in the last two weeks.  A big and a small painting, with a bit of scribbling on them.  Because I am, as I'm sure you well know, an inveterate scribbler!

"In the Realm of the Night."  I had two heavy, rustic wood frames made by a friend many years ago, which I've never been quite sure what to do with.  They called out to be much more than just frames, so I made this one part of the painting, with beads and fabric and bits of old jewellery all added into the mix.

This is "The Ragged Soul", to illustrate THIS poem of mine.  For anyone who has ever felt they weren't good enough, had failed, or just weren't the person they though they would be.

Acrylic, coloured pencil, pastel and ink.

and she looks angry--at the thoughts no doubt, for we are just as we are meant to be--and all those dark, destructive thoughts are phantoms, black dogs in the night, fears, and frights. Foolish to give them anything but acceptance, and the wisdom of an art--which is just what you've done! Lovely work.

Well ofcourse you're still there! We knew that all along! But sometines it's just like that: normal-day-things eat up your time and energy, and time goes by as if only únimportant things happened ....
But you made some wonderful blue paintings !!

oh I love the paintings especially that second one Christina! have been thinking about the thinning of the veils a lot lately, trying out some wobbly ideas with layerings of bookbinders mull and the finest silk organza which feels like trying to sew a piece of moonlight but it's a long way to go from the beauty of your painting which says it all, thank you for sharing, you shine & it's so good to see you back!

Both really beautiful, I love those colours... The Ragged Soul is particularly stunning, I love your words and the message behind them... the figure drawing is wonderful, I do so love life drawing and the human form.
I know exactly what you mean re time/energy, my eternal frustration! The threads are always there though no matter how stretched fine they are sometimes pulled, just hard to grasp them sometimes...

I have been meaning to drop in and say hello. Your painting is on my side bar in the form of a thumbnail pic representing your blog and when I first saw it I just loved it! I popped over and had a further look but didn't leave a comment at the time. I think your work is just magical and I love the way you mix writing with figures. They are so infused with meaning and multiple layers of imagery, just wonderful! I also think your work is getting better and better. I have set up my easel in my new home but haven't felt like painting yet. Depression just leaves you empty. Soon, I hope, joy will return, or at least relief.
Thank you as always for a most beautiful blog.
Blessings,
Tricia
